Entertaining comes naturally in this inviting and well-appointed kitchen space in Phoenix, Arizona. Brazilian Rosewood, with its deep brown and red tones, tie this kitchen remodel to the wood ceilings and support of the existing home.
When this project began Fender had recently been fined for using Rosewood, which made sourcing the wood very hard for this project. It was eventually located out of a shop in New York and shipped out. From there the project turned out beautifully and went on to win the 2015 Best Kitchen Design, which was sponsored by Timbre Products Company.
The project focused on a linear approach; this was accomplished in various ways one being the use of linear steel handles on the drawers. This allowed for a flush look all the way across rather than having handles protruding out. Other elements that made the kitchen minimal and unique was the installation of stone like bands under the counter. These stone bands mimicked the look of the stone floor below, hiding the electrical outlets. To the average person walking into the kitchen it looks as if there is no outlets in the kitchen giving it a very clean and sophisticated looked. Other notable aspects of this project are a dining room table and floating buffet that matches the style of the kitchen, and floating shelves that are hung by aircraft cables mounted on the ceiling.
